Y.lead Part I

Aloha! Today I'm going to blog about the 2013 Y.Lead Seminar held at River Valley High School, SG. It was held on 15th July 2013 to 19 July if I am not wrong. I literally missed the entire week of school, which is a bad thing because secondary 3 is like stress.. 1 day and you cant catch up and for this im missing 5 full school days. Further more, its like term 3...the teachers go full speed. Eventually I think it was a memorable, fun , new and enriching experience. It wasn't so bad after all. Today I'm Just going to talk about my group...Group 41 a.k.a MUCUS 41 which was the best group in my opinion. I'll leave the commencement night to the next post which will consist of 85% pictures I think... hahahah. that is a very lazy job of mine. The 15 hour challenge will be in a different post as well.

The theme for 2013’s seminar is “The First Step”. It conveys the point that any attempt to create change for the better starts with the decision to make a difference through action. All too often, there is paralysis of initiative from indecision, trepidation, a fear of failure and general inaction. Hence, the seminar intends to motivate the participants to take action and start a project or to be involved in a community initiative. However, bearing in mind that the participants are fairly young, the seminar will also equip them with the necessary skills and awareness to have the confidence to embark on their own leadership journey.

The seminar is a platform for youth representatives from asian nations to acquire an awareness of the need for good governance in the bid to solve or at least mitigate many of society’s problems. As such, the programme consists of opportunities to dialogue with senior civil servants to understand the motivation and thinking behind the formulation of policies, initiatives and long-term plans to guide Singapore along on the path towards economic, social and political stability.

There will also be a panel discussion to allow industry leaders from different fields to share their thoughts and passion for their work as well as their approach in dealing with challenges that crop up.

SO YEA...that's all I can sum up for what happened. So it was most like dry stuff but other than that the group activities and the 15 hour challenge was plain amazing.

Group 41. They. were a bunch of amazing kids. Trust me. you missed out a lot about us. Honestly speaking yes we did not win any awards. My group was the only group consisting of unitans who did not win any award. However, when we reached back to Unity, and while sharing our experience I found a lot of them who envied my group..from the excos point of view cause they went. Many of their groups have cliques are have kind of lots of internal conflict and theres a barrier. throughout the seminar they said they I seemed like I was having a lot of fun.which truly , wont be true, if it wasn't for the amazing group of people I had. Although we were really quiet at first and was 'shy' but we kicked not bad. when we started getting hyped...that's where its gone case. Many funny incidents... the moments before our skit performance, the closing ceremony, lunch, commencement night, whatsapp, 15 hour challenge..well its amazing and I have made too many memories which till date I do think back and still laugh at. Theres too many things to be written about... but these shall remain personal. I LOVE YOU MUCUS. thanks Zhi Wei for thinking of our group name and unofficially becoming our mascot. Thank you ShiYa and Zhi Wei for being amazing facils .
Deeply in our hearts, I still believe that we...all. still.... SHIP... YU WEI SHI
